Yesterday Ruco Chan, Kristal Tin, Louis Yuen, Leanne Li, Natalie Tong took part in the costume fitting of producer Amy Wong's new TVB modern comedy series (TN: Was called 'CHOK氣一族', but now the title is going to change). Kristal takes the lead in throwing out the 'laugh bombs' as she accidentally called Louis Yuen, 'Wayne Lai' instead (TN: Both of their Chinese names have the character, 'Cheung').. Kristal is also excited to work with Ruco in this new series. As for Louis, he expressed he will take good care of Wong Cho Lam's girlfriend, Leanne. Leanne asked the producer to be lenient on her and not give her so many intimate scenes.

This is the first time Kristal and Ruco are paired up as a couple. Based on the meetings they had, it seems they have the same views and believe the collaboration would go smoothly. Asked if there are any kiss scenes? Kristal laughed: "I haven't thought of that yet, but I am very open. I'm in acting because I can be with different men. Last time I was paired with Louis, and this time there is already great improvement. Honestly, my husband (Chapman To) is also quite happy for me as well. First, I don't need report what happens to him, he has a lot of girls around him when he's shooting films." Ruco claimed this is his first comedy series, but he believes he can handle it and hopes to spark with the cast.

Leanne expressed she doesn't know what her boyfriend Wong Cho Lam and Louis had discuss prior, but she hopes Louis really will take care of her. She is happy that they can finally work together and asked the producer to be lenient. Leanne frankly said not to give her too many kiss scenes, only when neccessary for the sotry then it's ok. If she had to choose between an actual kiss or fake the kiss using camera angles, she would hope to do the kiss using camera angles. When asked if her boyfriend can relax this time? She believed so herself because they are all very good friends in private life, her boyfriend trusts Louis.

Yesterday Raymond Lam, Elaine Ng, Kate Tsui, Ella Koon attended the costume fitting for TVB new series Thunderous Drug Raid. Lead actor Michael Miu was absent because he was busy with other matters.

It turns out that Raymond and Elaine's relationship dates back to when Raymond first debuted and worked as TVB8's host. Back then because of the 'Siu Lung Lui' incident, Raymond was able to interview her: "Over 10 years ago, I interviewed Elaine Ng before. It was that incident, which gave me the only chance to see her. After so many years, she is still my senior after all. (At the time did you speak up during the interview?) Yes, actually it was just a surrounding interview because at the time, there were too many other reporters at the scene." Raymond reveals this is his first time portraying a member in the law enforcement, and is fortunate that shooting starts after the Lunar New Year, giving him time for him to physically train himself.

Elaine's last TVB series was Legal Entanglement (2001), and this will be her comeback series after 10 years. She was asked how she became interested in accepting this series? She said: "A 30 episode story is very good. Also, I've been watching my partner Michael Miu's works since The Fearless Duo (1984), many of my female friends are envious that I get to work with him. They also said Michael's looks are better than the past. (Are there any kiss scenes?) I don't know. We do have a relationship in the series, and have a child after the divorce. (Will you refuse to kiss scenes?) Television is different from film. After all there is a limit. Artists don't really have much that they we don't want to shoot, just as long as its not a kiss scene during the time we eat." When speaking of Raymond once interviewed her in the past, Elaine frankly expressed it's been too long that she can't remember. It's been over 10 years, but she does remember one time they had hot pot in Shanghai.

Kate appeared as a pregnant woman for the costume fitting, she expressed she doesn't know who's baby she's carrying yet because the plot has not been fully confirmed. It is possible she's pretending to be pregnant to traffic drugs. Kate said: "I have the most miserable role in this series. In order to raise my younger brother, I had to sell pirated material and work as a 'boxer' at a bar. Later, I become a known 'Drug Queen'. The role really has a lot of room for development, so I must thank the producer. This Lunar New Year, I will have homework to do, since I need to know how to play the drinking game 'chai mui' and have to use a lot of slang words."

As for Ella Koon, not counting the series she guest starred in, it has been 6 years since she's been in a TVB series. When asked if she had to confirm who her partner was before accepting? Ella said: "I trust TVB's selections, feels quite suitable for me to portray. (Will you avoid series with Ron Ng?) This time I'm very happy to collaborate with Raymond Lam because we never collaborated before. Many of my female friends screamed when they learned about this, I will really have to enjoy these 3 months. (Any kiss scenes?) I don't think so, the story is about me having a crush on Raymond, he later chooses Kate Tsui."

I'm sure that it will be a tradition here from now on if there is such a great demand for it!!! I will review the night according to the series and performances of 2011, and will voice opinions that I imagine is what others believe to be fair and just. I would love to hear what you guys thought of the results, the fashion and the commentary too, please feel free to comment!***

Alright, now its time for my thoughts on the awards night!

Lifetime Achievement Award: Lee Heung Kam

"Kam Jeh" was thought to get this award last year but TVB decided to recognise Louise Lee instead. I'm happy that Kam Jeh was finally chosen as the recipient this year afterall! I feel that "Can't Buy Me Love" was definitely the last curtain call for her as I do not think that she can withstand the ridiculous working hours that TVB are famous for at such a fragile age, better late than never with the recognition though, loved that Ray Lui came and supported her!!!

Most Improved Male Artiste 2011: Jin Au-yeung

Leading Up To The Awards

*Jason Chan never really picked up steam from the media leading up to the awards.

*Jazz Lam was the press favourite when it came to predictions for his breakthrough role in "Ghetto Justice".

*Matt Yeung was Catherine Tsang's new favourite, was he going to take the award by surprise was the question.

*King Kong was said to be the dark horse among colleagues.

*Jin Au-yeung had a lot of news articles here and there but he never thought he would win nor did he show confidence.

What Happened On The Night

I was expecting Jazz to win but I'm happy that Jin won, everyone knew it was either Jazz or Jin for the win. On an acting level, Jazz has more potential and diversity while Jin is probably stuck with roles in modern dramas for now, however you cannot deny that Jin is a quick thinker and is pretty natural at hosting shows.

Jazz always had the potential in him, he was just waiting on an opportunity and character to shine. Jazz made audiences take him seriously as an actor, I wouldn't say he improved, I would say he made audiences notice him in a different light. Therefore, I think when it comes to improvement, Jin is the better recipient because he improved and blossomed through his live JSG shows, variety shows and in Lives of Omission.

The Speech

Jin was very humble, he said that he didn't think he would get nominated or win but then he whips out a speech on paper which I thought was pretty hilarious, he ended his speech with a very cool rap and got everybody cheering.

Favourite Quote: "If you don't fight you won't lose, but If you do fight, you have to fight and win!"

Most Improved Female Ariste Award 2011: Sire Ma

Leading Up To The Awards

*Sire Ma gained support and encouragement from colleagues and she was a strong contender with a lot of on-screen presence in 2011.

*Cilla Kung picked up steam towards the last couple of weeks with news articles and press predictions pointing her way.

*Mandy Wong was the dark horse and the press thought that Mandy participated in a range of series however her roles were not prominent enough to take home the award.

*Samantha Ko was never really confident in taking the award as most of her achievements were in variety shows but hoped to take on more drama roles next year.

What Happened On The Night

I was expecting Sire to win and she did. Cilla was the media's choice but never TVB's choice as she came as a surprise uproar, Cilla has not been presented with really prominent roles to date so I was not really worried that she would win. Mandy was always the most deserving but she is the slow climber, trying different small roles, getting noticed as a potentially good actress and now TVB are really starting to promote her! Maybe next year will be her year, fingers crossed!

Ok back to Sire, Sire was the supporting actress that has had the most exposure this year with five series under her belt, she did show shades of improvement in her series but like I've said before, her accent can be distracting, she has potential but I think that she needs a little more life experience in order to really immerse into some of her characters.

The Speech

Poor Sire, it was a very rushed speech but she still managed to compose herself and thank the people that she needed to thank. I think that Sire is a very cute girl as she even apologised for going overtime, when really, with a moment like this, she shouldn't worry.

Leading Up To The Awards

Top 5 was always a race between Raymond Lam, Bosco Wong, Ruco Chan, Kevin Cheng & Ron Ng. We always knew it was a pork chop award, it was just a matter of who TVB wanted to give it to.

*Ruco Chan was always leading the blog popularity during and way after the broadcast of "The Other Truth".

*Ron Ng came along and took top spot for a couple of weeks leading towards awards night.

*Out of the blue, Kevin Cheng takes top spot on the final two weeks.

What Happened On The Night

I honestly thought that Ruco Chan or Ron Ng would win this award because they were the top two artist a majority of the last 5-6months when weibo went live on tvb.com. Kevin Cheng's win did not surprise me though because it is a popularity award and Kevin is very popular with the media, in tvb.com and with tvb executives... sorry just had to add the last one!

***Interesting fact, no female artist has yet to break the trend of this male dominated award, I wonder who would be the first to break this trend???***

LOL Lau Yee Tat said "The Winner is Cheng Ka Yuo" hahaha all the boys wanted to stop Kevin from going up to collect his award as even he was confused!

Best Supporting Actor Award 2011: Ben Wong in "Lives of Omission"

Leading Up To The Awards

*Ben Wong received the most noise leading up to the awards with numerous articles and predictions saying that he was the clear winner.

*All veteran actors such as Elliot Yue, Lee Kwok Lun, Law Lok Lum & Ram Tseung were seen to be dark horses as they received recognition in the first half of 2011.

*Jazz Lam was finally noticed by audiences and he started to pick up a little steam leading up to the awards, besides Ben, Jazz was a hot favourite.

What Happened On The Night

I predicted that Ben would win and he did with a standing ovation! My predicted TVB Top 5 was slightly off though, but that doesn't matter, what matters is that Ben won! He was always the front runner and he was always the most deserving this year for his role in Lives of Omission. I think his character was very interesting and Ben executed it well.

The Speech

Ben's speech was quite touching and he even made reference to his entrance into TVB with his character in "A Kindred Spirit". I liked that Ben made reference to the script writers and the work they do behind the scenes in bringing a series to life.

Best Supporting Actress Award 2011: Sharon Chan in "Ghetto Justice"

Leading Up To The Awards

*Sharon Chan was clearly a hot favourite for the award as her exposure in the public eye and on TVB major events greatly increased.

*Nancy Wu picked up a lot of steam due to the popularity of her character in "Forensic Heroes III", she gained massive netizen support on polls and media outlets did pick her to win.

*Elena Kong was seen as the dark horse, everybody knew that there was a possibility that she would win, but she was up against strong opposition.

What Happened On The Night

I predicted four out of five right for TVB's Top 5. Elena Kong did not make the list, Helen Ma did instead. Surprising?? Actually I think that might be an understatement considering Elena's exceptional performance in "Lives of Omission" and her opponents seeing her as favourite to take the award. In saying so, credits to Helen, she was great in "The Other Truth", probably take out Aimee Chan's guest starring role would have been fairer.

I was expecting Sharon or Nancy to take this award home and Sharon crossed the line! Finally, after 10years of hard work, TVB is finally recognising Sharon's efforts! people may question if Sharon was really "the best" but I think that she did make a lot of noise thanks to a breakthrough character and a well executed performance.

The Speech

I started crying, don't ask me why, but when I saw Sharon cry, I was there with her! Sharon was crying pretty much throughout her speech but she still managed to get all her words out smoothly, she thanked TVB to taking her in when nobody wanted her and gave her opportunities in the last ten years.

My Favourite Female Character Award 2011: Myolie Wu as "Wong Si Fu" in "Ghetto Justice"

Leading Up To The Awards

*Linda has always expressed that she was more confident in winning "Favourite Character" award ever since Miss Koo from "Yes Sir, Sorry Sir" brought her fame in early 2011, and after clinching the Power Academy Award from Mingpao for her role in this series her opponents also saw her as hot favourite.

*Fala Chen was seen as the dark horse to clinch the award as a consolation prize for not taking the covered "Best Actress" as Madam Jo in "Lives of Omission", however Fala always expressed that her opponents this year were too strong and she thought that Madam Jo was not a stand out character.

*Myolie Wu stated that she liked her character in "Ghetto Justice" but Linda Chung's Miss Koo was too strong in that category.

*Tavia Yeung expressed confidence in her character in "The Other Truth" but she felt that due to her sickness, she could not perform to the best therefore Tavia also supported Linda Chung's Miss Koo.

*Maggie Cheung expressed that her character Dr Chung in "Forensic Heroes III" gave her opportunities to shine however she was more confident in "Best Actress" then she was in clinching the "Favourite Character" award.

What Happened On The Night

TVB's Top 5 was not what I saw coming, Aimee replaced Tavia in Top 5??? really? hmmmm that doesn't make any sense whatsoever as according to "The Scoop", the Top 5 leading the votes were Linda, Fala, Myolie, Tavia and Maggie... that is quite strange! Anyways back to the results, I had confidence that Linda would win but the ceremony did not focus on her at all when it came time to present the award which made me think maybe Fala would win as a consolation?

When I saw Myolie's name pop up on weibo as the winner, I kept on refreshing and rubbing my eyes to check that it was correct. Firstly, don't get me wrong, Myolie's character in "Ghetto Justice" is good, but she was not the audience's favourite. Linda's character in "Yes Sir, Sorry Sir" was talked about for most of 2011, she was even tipped to win "Best Actress" six months before the awards. So what happened? If its audience votes alone, Linda would of won by a mile but if you place in the "TVB Factor" in there, then its anyone's taking. Honestly, if I were to choose a winner besides Linda I would of chose Myolie, but like I said, surprise surprise and I felt a little sorry for Linda.

The Speech

Am I the only one to think that it was a little offensive of Myolie to not cherish the award through her speech?? I really want to know everybody's thoughts here because I felt that Myolie didn't respect the meaning of the award as she was basically sitting there waiting to get "Best Actress". Ok, fair enough, she was caught by surprise, but this award has always been held in high regards by previous recipients and this year, it felt like this award was another pork chop award. Luckily though, she saved the speech a little by thanking those who supported her character and thanking "Ghetto Justice" cast and crew.

*Kevin Cheng was seen as a favourite for this award among audiences but the media thought that he was more of a favourite in the "Best Actor" category.

*Michael Tse & Bosco Wong were seen as dark horses to take this award as consolation prizes, numerous newspapers and magazines tipped one or the other to take this award home.

*Moses Chan did not feel that he stood a chance this year with his character in "Yes Sir, Sorry Sir" and he supported his colleagues.

*Wayne was confident in his character but always supported Kevin's character in "Ghetto Justice".

What Happened On The Night

My TVB Top 5 was spot on, but leading up to the awards I felt that maybe Michael may take this award as a consolation as Kevin suddenly picked up steam for "Best Actor". I tipped Kevin for the win in this category and he won the award but I still felt a little surprised. I think the media really got me thinking when I should of just kept away from all the media speculations.

I guess I felt surprised because I had a feeling that Kevin would sweep the awards like Wayne did in 2009, which is great for Kevin, but I didn't agree that Kevin was the only stand out in 2011 whereas Wayne was the only stand out in 2009. In summary, Kevin is deserving in "Favourite Character" and I was happy he won but I was concerned about what was to happen.

The Speech

Kevin kept his cool and presented a well structured speech. Another actor that thanked the scriptwriters for writing such a great script. I liked the fact that he referenced his character Law Ba, as he would do anything to seek justice and he believes that audiences' eyes see justice.

Best Series Award 2011: Lives of Omission

I tipped that this series would win and it did! This series was always anticipated ever since it was announced and it did deliver in ratings and audience noise, however it was critiqued for its poor script and only average acting. I say, set your expectations low and maybe you will like the entertainment value that this series offers! A lot of people wanted "Ghetto Justice" or "Forensic Heroes III" to win, but I felt that "Lives of Omission" still had the slight edge, don't ask why, just a feeling I had.

Extraordinary Male & Female Artiste 2011: Bosco Wong & Myolie Wu

I thought this was an actual award, but it was more so a $20,000HKD voucher prize? hahaha I have nothing to say but "Get Married! Get Married!"

Best Actress Award 2011: Myolie Wu in "Curse of the Royal Harem"

Leading Up To The Awards

*Myolie Wu was a hot contender after the airing of "Ghetto Justice" but the media predicted that because anniversary series "Curse of the Royal Harem" was about to air, it was a set up by TVB to give the "Best Actress" award to her.

*Linda Chung created a lot of noise early on as a hot favourite for "Best Actress" however Linda was always more confident in "Favourite Character" award.

*Fala Chen was in the picture after the airing of "Lives of Omission" as she was praised by audiences for her improvements, however Fala never saw herself as a hot contender as she felt that she did not do her best and there is still a lot more room to improve.

*Tavia, Kate & Maggie expressed confidence but thought that Myolie & Fala were the hot contenders for the year.

What Happened On The Night

Kate was in the Top 5 according to vote count on "The Scoop" but suddenly, Liza is placed in there replacing Kate, that was a little bit of a surprise. But as expected Myolie won the award, doing what Charmaine Sheh did in 2006 with two wins.

I feel that Myolie was never under threat for this award as she was a clear winner and hot favourite against colleagues from the same generation. Myolie was always the next in line to take this award and 2011 was definitely a good year for her to shine with great results from all three of her series. Congratulations Myolie, you deserve all the accolades and you were very deserving, I hope that we get to see you give us great performances time after time!

The Speech

Very touching, Myolie actually prepared a better speech this time, thanking all the support she gathered when she thought she was stuck in an acting hole. She hoped that she would be a great role model for her fans while thanking them for their undying support through the good times and bad times. I liked that she was honest about her disappointment when the media gave her the idea that she was a hot favourite for this award in 2006 but ended up going home empty-handed. Finally in her speech, Myolie thanked Bosco for being strict on her and caring for her through tough times saying that they both have flaws but they will continue to support each other till the end. VERY SWEET!!!

Best Actor Award 2011: Kevin Cheng in "Ghetto Justice"

Leading Up To The Awards

*The race for "Best Actor" happened in the later half of 2011 with Kevin Cheng leading the way with his impressive performance in "Ghetto Justice", the media predicted it was in the bag and a majority of Kevin's colleagues supported Kevin Cheng to win.

*Michael Tse tested that theory when "Lives of Omission" was released, although audiences critiqued the script and the supposed sub-par performance by the cast, there was still massive interest towards the end of the series regarding the possible end to Laughing.

*Bosco Wong created a lot of talk amongst netizens as being the dark horse to take the award as his character in "Lives of Omission" saw another side of Bosco's potential.

*Raymond Lam's devil role in "Men With No Shadows" was met with mixed reactions but Raymond was confident that he could take the award.

*Wayne Lai expressed confidence in his role in "Forensic Heroes III" but supported Kevin & Michael to take the award this year.

*Moses Chan said that he was very relaxed and will watch the show unfold as apart of the audience.

What Happened On The Night

The Top 5 for "Best Actor" was exactly the same as the list for "Favourite Character" award. I was right in predicting that Moses would make the list and one actor would be taken out, in this case it was Raymond. I predicted that Michael would win this award and I was worried that he wouldn't but also hoped that he did.

Leading up to the last moment, Kevin won and I had mixed reactions. Like I said before, Kevin was great this year, but he was not the only one that got noticed in 2011, Michael went home empty-handed and I felt that it was a little unfair that the company did not recognise his efforts whatsoever. In saying so, Kevin is a humble winner, you can't complain too much compared to 2006 as he is just as deserving in 2011.

The Speech

Kevin's final speech was similar to his "Favourite Character" award speech except he added thanks to Producer Amy Wong who gave him so many opportunities to shine even though it was not her produced series this time. Like in 2006, he again thanked his mother and reiterated that he can finally say that he did not pick the wrong industry to work in. He thanked the press behind the scenes that were covering the awards and stated that he did not sign a longer contract in return for this award. Finally, he wrapped up by saying this time around he can only be happy for his win and not worried.

I will finish with this... 2011 TVB Anniversary Awards was a year that got TVB back on track when it came to favouritism, as 2007-2010 was more about audience recognition. This year was not the best year for TVB so they needed to push their own, next year will be more interesting with great line ups and fierce competitors, see you guys in 2012!

Linda Chung accepts a challenging role a depressed cellist

"TVB new series Dangerous Protection will start shooting, the majority of the cast is from Yes Sir, Sorry Sir with Linda Chung leading. This series is regarded as the 'Miss Cool Spinoff', but the lead actor is switched to Bosco Wong. Yesterday at the costume fitting event, Linda performed on a cello, while Bosco got on his knees to propose to her.

In the series, Linda plays a cellist who suffers from clinical depression. She is much stronger than Miss Cool and plus playing cello will be the greatest challenge for her. She is taking a speed course and only took one lesson of cello. She hopes to take a few more cello lessons, so her performance can look just like a real cellist. Bosco is longing to wear a police uniform, but because he's on the Witness Prosecution Unit, his wish didn't come true.

Queenie Chu was involved in a car accident earlier in Okinawa, Japan. She reveals she is currently receiving a mix of Chinese and Western treatment, and is doing physical therapy every day. As she is also part of the cast of Policewoman Love Battlefield, and plays a motorcyclist police officer, will she be able to handle two series simultaneously? My picks for top 5 this year have all placed solid performances in their respective series; some more than others have excelled in their roles due to a combination of a well written character plus their ability to act naturally. Surprises from this list would be Kevin & Ruco, didn’t expect them to impress me as highly as they did, they deserve all the accolades and praises. Steven & Wayne never fail to impress as they are born actors, and Michael continued his solid performance through giving audiences more layers to his character.

TVB’s pick for Top 5 will be a very close reflection to this, they may take one actor out and make way for Moses Chan, which I can understand but will not agree to. This is a pretty good field of actors and all have been mentioned as potential winners of the award.

Most Deserving Best Actor: Ruco Chan

Hands down my favourite this year! Ruco was just awesome in The Other Truth, his character was well written and Ruco executed with ease. Probably the actor that showed the most layers, most emotions and most depth. I really can’t wait to see more of his work in the future! Ruco is very deserving but I truly doubt he will clinch the award, but if he gets more great scripts like The Other Truth, he will no doubt be a front runner next year!

Dark Horse: Bosco Wong

If Bosco takes this award, it will be very mixed reactions considering the very solid field, but in saying so, he is probably up there when it comes to favourites to take out this award this year. Bosco has done exceptionally well with what he was given, I think that if TVB wrote a more compelling story for Bosco in Lives of Omission, I would support him for the award too!

TVB’s Best Actor 2011: Michael Tse

I am 80% sure that Michael will take this award this year, the other 20% I’ll leave for the possibility that TVB wants to promote others and cause controversy. I have heard very mixed reactions to Michael’s performance in Lives of Omission, but for me personally, I feel that he was solid and did fairly well, maybe everybody was expecting more because of “The Laughing Gor” franchise. I will say, the script was not the greatest, but I feel that Michael showed a lot more depth and character in Lives of Omission.

Actually looking at my picks for Top 5 looks a little odd. It is a pretty random list, but these actresses just stood out for me this year. Let’s be fair here, I am human and I do play favourites, but none of these actresses are real favourites of mine, I just liked their execution and they popped for me. Surprises from this list are definitely Yoyo & Kate, Yoyo’s acting has been stagnant ever since Forensic Heroes for me, but I enjoyed her performance in Only You. Kate just clicked for me in Lives of Omission, I’ve never been a Kate fan because she was just an awkward actress, but she was exceptional. Maggie & Jessica are needless to say, TV Queens will give you value for money, but I have to mention that Myolie should be nominated for Ghetto Justice and not for Curse of The Royal Harem, nevertheless, I will continue to watch and support.

Most Deserving Best Actress: Myolie Wu

Myolie is the most deserving because TVB have set it up and marketed it well; it’s also a great bonus that Myolie’s series have faired very well in ratings this year also. For once in a long time, Myolie has gained the support of audiences with great responses from both The Rippling Blossom & Ghetto Justice. I also support Myolie, this is her time!

Dark Horse: Fala Chen

The chances of Fala actually taking this award are very slim, it’s not her time and she also knows it. Fala has improved in Lives of Omission, but Fala is still in the process of learning and developing her acting skills, she is not ready to take on this title and what comes with it, and that is the expectation to be the best every time. In saying so, she will take the title one day for her representative work and Lives of Omission was anything but that.

TVB’s Best Actress 2011: Myolie Wu

I am 99% certain that Myolie will take the title this year, the 1% will be a share amongst the other 4 finalists. If Myolie doesn’t take the title, there will be a lot of unhappy netizens. I just hope that Curse of the Royal Harem will do Myolie some justice and continue the momentum created from her earlier series; I think it will just seal the deal a little more convincingly. It’s time that Myolie takes this title; she has been the strongest, best and deserving actress in 2011!!

Power has always been a favourite of mine, and his performance in any series will be executed extremely well. In Men With No Shadows, he performed with ease. Power has got to be one of the most beautiful male criers! It’s always awkward to watch a lot of actors cry, but Power just makes your heart break when you see him cry!

Dark Horse: Elliot Yue

Elliot is one of the few actors that have the biggest respect for what he does. In Grace Under Fire, he plays the villain with ease, he is probably the biggest threat in this category to take the award if TVB wants to honour this veteran actor.

Ben Wong is probably the only one out of this batch that has got the media and netizens talking. Ben has achieved a memorable performance in Lives in Omission, so it is no surprise that he is grabbing the attention of audiences, and at long last I say! Most Deserving Best Supporting Actress: Elena Kong

Elena has dominated our screens for the last 2years but nobody is complaining or sick of seeing her because she is that good! Elena’s performance in Lives of Omission was very dark & heavy, you really required someone that could perform this character in a strong but fresh way, not your ordinary flow of emotions, but deeper. A complex but realistic character, Elena performed brilliantly!

Nancy is getting more and more natural when it comes to acting, and she is awesome as a headstrong lawyer in Forensic Heroes III! Nancy is gaining a lot of momentum and great feedback lately, I wouldn’t be surprised if Nancy were to snatch this award that night.

The chances of Sharon taking this award has been quite high all year, but the last two months are definitely testing her as she has some very strong opponents now. Most Deserving My Favourite Male Character: Kevin Cheng

It was extremely hard for me to pick the most deserving character out of my picks, but I went with the comedic and light hearted one, “Law Ba or LA Law”. I just loved him from start to finish, never for a moment did I not like him, he was just so likeable! All the other characters just didn't have the same charisma as LA, probably the closest was Raymond Wong's "Cheuk Siu Him" but even then, LA was just more realistic, switched on and down-to-earth.

Dark Horse: Bosco Wong

From the good to the bad, I wouldn’t be surprised (and a little angry) if this award would be the consolation prize for Bosco for not winning Best Actor Award “touchwood”. In saying so, “Bai Co” was an interesting gang member that did have some interesting sub-plots and background stories, but I just felt that his character could have been more of a stand out if the script developed his stories better.

TVB’s My Favourite Male Character 2011: Kevin Cheng

I have confidence that “Law Ba” will take this award home this year. Sometimes you tend to forget that Kevin was TV King in 2006 because he was simply not “the best”. This time around, he will be remembered because "Law Ba" had a great character presence and was just great to watch. A word of warning, if Kevin doesn’t win, its rigged hahaha!

Most Deserving My Favourite Female Character: Yoyo Mung

Female characters are harder to stand out because a majority are your typical hk conservative, professional, independent types. “Ah Mun” was my favourite because she was different and distinctive, not your typical hk girl, if anything, her attitude towards life reflected a lot of girls that are Asian but live in western countries. She was realistic about life and set goals she could achieve. She was sassy, smart, family-oriented and honest, something that guys tend to stay away from, but inside she was as soft as a teddy bear and would fall in love with the right guy in an instant.

Dark Horse: Fala Chen

Maybe a possible consolation prize? “Madam Jo” was probably remembered for her death more than her actual character, but she was a career-minded policewoman that had great leadership skills. I think that Madam Jo existed to be Laughing’s girlfriend and to tell the story of all the hardships they go through together on the job and off.

It was a quiet year when it came to character stand outs, but things started to change when “Miss Koo” started crying on our screens. Netizens went crazy and they loved Miss Koo! Linda did a great job portraying such an emotionless character that showed shades of kindness towards the end. The award is basically in the bag, I would be surprised if Linda went home empty handed without this award, TVB loves this character so much there's even a spin-off series coming soon, that has to say something!

I like Mandy Wong, something about her reminds me of Tavia Yeung, she has a very fresh and cute face, and she is constantly improving and TVB are giving her meatier roles. Cilla Kung has been very popular ever since Yes Sir, Sorry Sir but I feel that there is still room for improvement as she still has to explore different characters. Sire Ma is the front-runner only because TVB is promoting her to second lead soon, TVB will use any excuse to push that along, apart from that though, Sire is pretty likeable but her accent can be distracting sometimes.
